Attorneys serving Norfolk, Newport News, & Roanoke, Virginia

As attorneys, we want to take every opportunity to give back to the community and help children in our area. We spent some time with kids in our area recently discussing bicycle safety. The main concern we talked about is how much every child needs to wear a bicycle helmet. This is the number one tip on how to keep your children safe while riding their bikes, scooters, and even other recreational equipment. Helmets come in all shapes and sizes but the best option would be one that covers at least three-fourths of your child’s head. These are much safer and can really be a lifesaver. Along with a great helmet, we talked about how wearing good clothing can also prevent accidents. Reflective clothing can be seen by any passing automobiles and even wearing light colored tops and pants can keep you visible to passerby. Kids should also be equipped with headlights and flashlights which can be installed on their bicycles or helmets. We also wanted to let the children know that some other tips such as riding their bike in the same direction of traffic and staying away from busy streets with traffic lights. Bicycle safety is very important and learning how to be safe can not only stop someone from being injured but even save a life. Watch the video now to learn more.
