Jesse was born in Annapolis, Maryland in 1960. He attended Wake Forest University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. Jesse received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1985 and then received a Master of Laws in Admiralty degree from Tulane University School of Law in 1987. Jesse received three American Jurisprudence Book Awards (top grade in the class) while in law school.

Jesse is a member of the Louisiana State Bar and the Virginia State Bar, as well as the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA), the Admiralty Section of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute.

Jesse is one of the most experienced Jones Act lawyers practicing law in Virginia. Prior to moving to Norfolk in 1989 Jesse worked for a large admiralty firm in New Orleans, LA. After arriving in Hampton Roads he has handled hundreds of maritime cases for injured brown and blue water seamen, fishermen and other maritime workers. Jesse has been featured on the Hampton Roads Show "Legal Matters" television show to discuss issues that impact the Maritime and Cruise Ship Industry. Many of the companies that he has battled against are mentioned here on our website and are customarily seen at all the port locations throughout Hampton Roads, including Norfolk International Terminals, Portsmouth Marine Terminals, Newport News Marine Terminals and APM Terminals, as well as other ports across the country.

Jesse is the lead attorney on our catastrophic injury team and is a top trial lawyer who has resolved numerous 7 figure multi-million dollar cases and several 8 figure multi million dollar cases. Jesse enjoys a very active litigation practice in both State (Virginia, Lousiania, Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania) and Federal Courts and has lectured on maritime, product liability and evidentiary issues at both the local and national levels.
