Attorney, Colin O'Dawe

Colin grew up in a military family throughout the US and Europe before graduating from high school in York County, Virginia. Colin currently lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and son.
Colin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech in 2003, and his Juris Doctor from George Mason School of Law in 2006.
In Law School, he was a full member of George Mason's Law Review, worked as a law clerk at a personal injury law firm in Northern Virginia and interned at the United States Department of Justice.
After graduating from Law School, Colin returned to Hampton Roads and practiced as a trial lawyer for five years at the Office of the Public Defender for the City of Norfolk. There, he developed extensive trial experience in hundreds of bench trials and dozens of jury trials.
Colin currently serves the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia as a member of the Virginia Board of Corrections. In this position, Governor Terry McAuliffe has appointed Colin to advise the Governor on matters relating to community corrections, develop and establish operational and fiscal standards governing the operation of correctional facilities, and promulgate rules and regulations pertaining to community correctional facilities and educational programs within the Department of Corrections
Colin is a member of both The Virginia State Bar and The North Carolina State Bar. He is also admitted and qualified to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Colin is also an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association (VTLA). He has a very active personal injury, admiralty, and criminal defense trial practice.
