Norfolk Humane Officer is Attacked by Dog during Surrender

Rarely do we hear of cases of dogs attacking Humane Officers, but on yesterday while a Norfolk Resident was surrendering four pit bulls that attacked another dog, the dog turned on the officer. The owner opened the car door and the dog tried to escape, the officer was able to retrieve the dog. Unfortunately the dog “spun around and bit the Humane Officer in the face and the leg.” According to a statement from Norfolk Police, the injuries were not life threatening. The owner of the dogs is facing charges for both the attack on the officer and the attack on dog from the prior day before.
